High School:  Graduate of Bishop Garrigan High School in Iowa...named Iowa 8-Man Team Captain by Iowa Football Coaches Association and Iowa Print Sports Writers Association after leading Golden Bears to state title with 11-1 record...rushed for 1,340 yards on 219 carries (6.1 avg) with 22 TD's...gained 181 yards with four TD's in state semi-final win over #1 Winfield Mount Union...added 55 tackles on defense...three-time All-District selection - twice on defense and one on offense.
