D'Mauria Martin is in his first season at Wayne State serving as special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach.
Martin spent the previous two years as special teams coordinator and linebackers coach at Briar Cliff. Prior to that Martin served the 2022 season as an assistant coach at Chadron State working with the team's cornerback room. He began his coaching career at Concordia University in Seward where he was graduate assistant defensive back coach from 2019-21 after serving as a volunteer coach in 2018.
As a player Martin was a four-year starter at Concordia where he was First Team All-GPAC twice and honorable mention as a sophomore. During his career he recorded 136 tackles with 30 pass breakups and seven interceptions highlighted by a three interception game as a senior in 2017 to set a single game school record.
Martin earned his bachelor degree from Concordia Seward in recreation and sports studies and obtained a masters degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia Irvine.
