High School:  Graduate of Dallas Center-Grimes High School in Iowa...multi-sport standout in football, wrestling, track and field and baseball...led Mustangs with 128 tackles (97 solo) during senior season helping team to 7-3 record and Class 5A State Playoffs...added 14 tackles for loss, three fumble recoveries and one interception...was named Iowa Grandstand Sports All-State First Team, IFCA All-State Second Team to go with All-District honors...credited with 102 tackles (67 solo) during junior season with seven tackles for loss and one fumble recovery to earn All-Conference and All-District First Team honors...was a state qualifier in wrestling and All-Conference and All-District Second Team in baseball...received Academic All-Conference honors in all four sports.
