2011: Started all 11 games in senior season at Wayne State...recorded 53 tackles with 25 solo and 28 assisted on the season...had 10 tackles for loss for 32 yards and two and a half sacks for 15 yards...recovered two fumbles and blocked a kick...was seventh on the team in tackles with 53...notched season-high 11 tackles with two tackles for loss, one sack and a fumble recovery vs. the University of Mary on 10/8/11...ranked tied for eighth in the NSIC in tackles for loss with 10...was selected to the All-NSIC Defensive Second Team.

2010: Appeared in all 11 games this season for Wayne State...recorded 31 tackles on the season with 10 solo stops and 21 assisted tackles...had three tackles for loss on the season to go along with 1.5 sacks...named  2010 NSIC South Division All-Conference Honorable Mention...also named Omaha World Herald All-Nebraska NCAA Division II Honorable Mention...had a season high seven tackles against Upper Iowa on 10-30-10...had six tackles against Northern State on 9-25-10 including one sack.

2009: Started all 11 games at defensive tackle for the Wildcats as a sophomore...ranked seventh on the team in total tackles with 51 (10 solo and 41 assisted)...also had 5.5 tackles for loss - 18 yards, two sacks for minus 12 yards and three fumble recoveries, which tied for second in the NSIC...was named NSIC Defensive Player of the Week on 10-12-09 after making a career-high 18 tackles at Bemidji State on 10-10-09...had fumble recoveries vs. Nebraska-Kearney (8-29-09), Upper Iowa (10-3-09) and at Winona State (10-17-09).

2008: Appeared in 10 games as a backup nose guard on defense for the Wildcats, finishing with 11 tackles...had four solo and seven assisted stops with 1.5 sacks for minus nine yards as a redshirt freshman...had season-high three tackles at Augustana College on 10-25-08...had one sack for minus six yards at Chadron State in NCAA playoff game on 11-15-08 and had 1/2 sack for minus three yards vs. Concordia, St. Paul on 11-1-08.

2007: Sat out season as a redshirt.

High School: Three-year standout at Howells High School, earning All-State honors as a junior and senior in football. Helped Bobcats reach Class C-2 semi-finals as a senior while winning state titles in 2003, 2004, and 2005. In wrestling, Bazata is a three time state qualifier and was crowned the Class D State Champion at 189 pounds as a junior. Finished high school career with 217 tackles on defense with 14 sacks and 25 tackles for loss.
