2011: Started all 11 games for Wayne State at left offensive guard during his senior season...recorded one solo tackle vs. Nebraska-Kearney on 9/1/11 and one solo tackle at Minnesota State on 10/22/11...received honorable mention to the All-NSIC Team.
2010: Started two games for the Wildcats in 2010 after suffering a season ending injury.
2009: Started all 11 games at left offensive guard as a sophomore and did not record any statistics.
2008: Saw action in three games as a backup offensive lineman for the Wildcats as a redshirt freshman...played at Upper Iowa (10-4-08), vs. Bemidji State (10-11-08) and vs. Winona State (10-18-08).
2007: Redshirted during 2007 campaign.
High School: Scherer was a three-year letter winner and a starter for two and a half season at Dallas Center-Grimes HS in Iowa, earning Third-Team All-State, First-Team All-District and First-Team All-County honors as a senior. Also started in wrestling and baseball at Dallas Center-Grimes HS.
