2011: Red-shirted during freshman year with the Wildcats.

High School:  Graduate of King High School in Florida...Smith-Gonzales recorded 64 tackles and one interception and one touchdown in 2010 as captain of the King High School football team...earned Third Team All-Conference honors in 2010...also earned three letters in track and field...was a regional qualifier in the long jump in 2010.

Personal: Son of Tarus and Nakia Gonzales...born December 11, 1991...major is undeclared at Wayne State.
