Biography

2016:  Saw action in eight games with six starts, recording 33 total tackles with 23 solo stops...credited with one forced fumble, three breakups and two tackles for loss (3 yds)...made season-high eight tackles with one forced fumble at MSU Moorhead (9/1/16)...had six tackles (four solo) at Bemidji State (9/17/16) and credited with five tackles (four solo) vs. Minot State (9/10/16).

2015:  Ranked fourth on the Wildcat defense with 44 total tackles (36 solo) after starting 10 of 11 games in the secondary...tied for second on the team in pass breakups with five and had one interception...credited with four breakups and five tackles vs. Upper Iowa (11/7/15)...had season-high seven tackles at Minnesota Duluth (9/12/15) and vs. Southwest Minnesota State (10/10/15)...made three solo tackles with one interception vs. Sioux Falls (10/3/15).

2014:  Appeared in 10 games with seven starts at defensive back, recording 25 tackles (16 solo, nine assisted)...ranked second on the team in pass breakups with six...credited with season-high six tackles at St. Cloud State (9/13/14) and had two pass breakups at Concordia-St. Paul (10/11/14)...was top punt returner on special teams with 10 returns for 101 yards, including a season-long 48 yard punt return at Concordia-St. Paul (10/11/14)...also had three kickoff returns for 50 yards.

2013: Sat out season as a redshirt.

High School: Bethea was a three year starter on the football team at Kamiak High School where he was named First Team All-Wesco Conference, First Team All-Area and was selected to play in the East vs. West Washington All Star game this summer...as a junior he was also named First Team All-Wesco Conference and as a sophomore was Second Team All-Conference...he led Kamiak in tackles during his junior and senior seasons while also leading the team and conference in interceptions during his senior year...Bethea was also a two year starter in lacrosse and ran one year in track.

Personal: Son of Hassan Bethea and Therya Mattos, born on 8-6-1995...undeclared major at WSC.
