Mason Denholm is in his second year (2023-24) as a coaching assistant with Wayne State men's basketball.
Wayne State captured the NSIC South Division title for the third time in the last five seasons in the 2022-23 season with records of 18-11 overall and 13-9 in the NSIC South Division in Denholm's first season at WSC.
Denholm comes to WSC after spending the last three years as assistant coach (two as a graduate assistant) at Grand View University where he helped lead the 2021-22 team to a 17-11 overall record and 12-7 league mark while advancing to the NAIA National Tournament. The 2021-22 team tied for second in the Heart of America Athletic Conference after being picked 12th in the preseason coaches' poll. Denholm helped recruit one All-American and five All-Conference players as an assistant at Grand View.
Denholm attended Grand View University where he was a player on the Vikings men's basketball team and was on the 2016-17 NAIA National Tournament Team. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management in 2017 and earned a master's degree in sport management in 2018.
Mason and his wife Emily reside in Wayne with their dog Kobe.
