2024:  Competed in all six meets, finishing as #4 WSC runner at one meet and #5 finisher at four others...was #4 WSC runner at season-opening Augustana Twilight Meet (9/6/24) with time of 21:07.4...placed 26th overall at WSC Wildcat Invite (9/28/24) in 29:34.1 on 8,000-meter course...ran career-best 8,000-meter time of 26:35.8 at NSIC Championships in Minot, North Dakota (10/26/24)...received NSIC All-Academic Team honors for third straight season. 

2023:  Participated in all six meets...had season-best time of 27:29 on 8,000-meter course at NSIC Championships in Bismarck, North Dakota (10/21/23)...placed season-best 24th at Wildcat Classic (9/22/23) with time of 29:15...was 39th at Dordt University/Sunflower Open (9/9/23) at 27:57...repeat selection to NSIC All-Academic Team.

2022: Competed in all seven meets during the season...placed season best 26th with time of 29:29 at Wildcat Classic (9/23/22)...season best time on 8000-meter course was 27:17.7 at Dordt Defender Classic (10/8/22)...recorded time of 28:16.2 at NSIC Championships in Wayne (11/5/22)...named to NSIC Fall All-Academic Team.

2021:  Ran at all six meets during season...was #5 WSC finisher at NCAA Central Regional in Joplin, Missouri (11/6/21) with time of 34:55 on 10,000-meter course...finished 23rd at WSC Wildcat Classic (9/24/21) in 29:20 and was 31st at Morningside Invite (9/17/21) with time of 28:44...top time on 8,000-meter course was 28:17 at Dordt Classic (10/9/21).

High School:  Graduate of West Point-Beemer High School...lettered four years in cross country and track and field...in cross country, was a four-time state qualifier and medaled as a senior finishing 12^th in Class C at 17:06...was a two-time East Husker Conference champion in cross country and a four-time All-Conference selection...in track and field, Mitzel was a Class B state qualifier as a senior in the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs and was an All-East Husker Conference selection twice...also excels in the classroom earning Academic All-State honors in cross country three years and track once.
