Josh Spenner Season/Career Stats

2017 Outdoor: 
Posted fifth place finish in the pole vault with mark of 15' 1 3/4"at the NSIC Outdoor Championships...broke own school record in the pole vault on 5/6/17 after clearing 15' 7 1/4" at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays to place eighth overall...also took second in the javelin throw at Howard Wood Relays with mark of 160' 2"...took second in pole vault at Wildcat Classic (3/26/17) clearing 15' 1 1/2".

2017 Indoor:  Competed in pole vault and long jump during the indoor season...cleared season-high mark of 15' 5" to place fifth at Concordia Invite (2/10/17)...took third at the SDSU Holiday Open (12/3/16) with mark of 14' 7 1/4"...cleared 14' 10" at SDSU DII Invite (1/20/17) to finish sixth...had season-best mark of 21' 2" in the long jump at the NSIC Indoor Championships (2/25/17).

2016 Outdoor:  Captured first place in the NSIC decathlon with 6,496 points, winning three of the 10 events...was first in the shot put, pole vault and discus...also placed fourth in the pole vault at the NSIC Outdoor Championships with a new outdoor school record mark of 15' 6 1/2"...finished third in the pole vault at the MIAA/NSIC Showdown (4/8/16) with mark of 14' 7 1/2"...selected to the NSIC Spring All-Academic Team.

2016 Indoor:  Earned All-NSIC honors in two events at the NSIC Indoor Championships...set a new school record and placed third in the heptathlon with 4,788 points, an NCAA provisional mark, and also finished third in the pole vault clearing 15' 7"...placed second in the heptathlon at the Minnesota State Open with 4,707 points...named to the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team.

2015 Outdoor:  Placed in two events at the NSIC Outdoor Championships (5/9/15) in Sioux Falls, taking fourth in the decathlon with 6,356 points and seventh in the pole vault clearing 13' 11 1/4"...just missed placing in the javelin throw, finishing 10th at 160' 10".

Before Wayne State: Attended Iowa Central Community College and Briar Cliff where he played baseball at both schools.

High School:  Graduate of Columbus Scotus Catholic High School...was a three sport standout in football, basketball and track and played American Legion baseball in the summer...earned First Team All-District and All-Conference honors in football during junior and senior seasons.

Personal: Son of Allan and Lori Spenner...majoring in industrial technology, drafting and design.
