2011 Outdoor: Placed 21st in the 5,000 meter run at NSIC Championships with time of 16:29.52...had season best times of 16:28.48 in the 5,000 meter run and 10:33.90 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Sioux City Relays on 4-16-11...named to the NSIC Spring All-Academic team for the second straight season.
2011 Indoor: Scored points in two events at NSIC Championships in senior indoor season...was seventh in the 5,000 meter run with season-best time of 15:18.03 and was seventh in the 3,000 meter run at 8:53.80...top time in 3,000 meter run was 8:47.71 at Husker Sevigne Invite on 2-4-11...repeat selection to the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team.
2010 Outdoor: Finished eighth in the 5,000 meter run with a season-best time of 15:18.94 at NSIC Championships in Moorhead, Minnesota...just missed placing in the 10,000 meter run, taking ninth with season-best time of 32:28.03...one of four WSC runners selected to the NSIC Spring All-Academic Team.
2010 Indoor: Placed seventh in the 5000 meter run at the NSIC Indoor Championships in Mankato with a season best time of 15:27.78...ran a season best time of 8:58.59 in the 3000 meter run at the Nebraska Tuneup Open on 2/19/10...had best finish of sixth (9:08.41) in the 3000 meter run at the USD John Dalton Open on 2/6/10...one of six Wildcats named to NSIC Winter All-Academic team.
2009: Sat out as a redshirt.
2008 Outdoor: Just missed a medal in the 10,000 meter run at the NSIC Outdoor Championships in Wayne, placing seventh with time of 33:56.49...also finished 15th in the 5,000 meter run at NSIC meet (17:36.55) ...had top time of 16:24.06 in the 5,000 meter run at the Nebraska Open in Lincoln on 4-27-08...ran season-best time of 9:35.80 in the 3,000 meter run at the WSC Sunshine Invite on 4-14-08.
2008 Indoor: Competed in the 5,000 meter run at the NSIC Indoor Championships and took eighth with a time of 16:18.16...ran season-best time of 15:55.04 in the 5,000 meter run at the Minnesota State Open on 2-2-08...had top time of 9:09.98 in the 3,000 meter run at the Iowa State Open on 1-25-08.
High School: Thomas was a standout cross country and track and field performer at Lennox High School in South Dakota....was a two-time Class A State Cross Country qualifier and placed 10th in the Class A 3200 Meter Run as a senior with a time of 10:32.99.
Personal: son of Marilyn and J. Thomas...born on May 16, 1988...majoring in applied human and sport physiology and exercise science with a coaching minor.
