Makenna Taake Season/Career Bests

2022 Outdoor: 
Was fourth place in long jump with season-best mark of 16' 4 1/4" and fifth in triple jump (33' 2 1/2") at season-opening Wildcat Classic (3/26/22)...season-best mark in triple jump was 33' 6 1/2" at Prairie Wolf Invite (4/28/22)...received NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence honors.

2022 Indoor: Competed in five meets...placed fifth in the long jump posting a distance of 15' 10 1/2" as well as taking seventh in the triple jump with a 32' 1 1/2" leap at the Lancer Last Chance (2/12/22)...finished 15th in the triple jump (30' 2 1/4") at the USD Alumni Track & Field Meet (2/5/22)...posted season-best marks in the long jump  (16' 0 1/4") and in the triple jump (32' 3 1/2") at the SDSU Holiday Open & Multi (12/3-4/21).

2021 Outdoor:  Had season-best mark of 16' 6" in long jump to place second at USD Twilight (4/22/21)...posted seventh place finish at WSC Challenge (5/1/21) with mark of 16' 1 1/2" and placed eighth at season-opening Wildcat Classic (3/27/21) in long jump at 15' 11".

2021 Indoor:  Posted season-best marks in opening meet of the season, placing second in the long jump at 16' 10" and seventh in the triple jump at 33' 9 1/4"...took fifth at the USD Dakota Realty Meet (1/23/21) and sixth at Herschel Neil/Northwest Missouri State Invite (1/30/21) in the long jump  with identical marks of 16' 1 3/4".

High School: Graduate of Battle Creek High School...lettered four years in track and field, three in basketball and two in volleyball...is the reigning Class C state champion in the long jump (17’ 9 ½”) and was also a state qualifier in the triple jump while running a leg on the eighth place 400-meter relay team...placed fourth in the long jump (16’ 4 ¾”) and seventh in the triple jump (35’ ½”) as a sophomore and was a state qualifier in both events as a freshman in 2017 placing eighth in the long jump (15’ 7 ½”).

Personal: Daughter of Brian and Wendy Taake...born January 24, 2002...majoring in pre-dentistry.
