Biography
2016: Started all 32 matches and played in 115 sets averaging 1.23 kills and 1.09 blocks per set...ranked third in the NSIC in blocks per set and had at least one block in all but two matches during the season...ranked second on the team in attack percentage (.296)...had season high 11 kills with .647 attack percentage vs. University of Mary (10/1/16)...credited with season high nine blocks at Sioux Falls (9/15/16)...added eight blocks in 3-1 win over Colorado Mesa (9/2/16) and vs. Nova Southeastern (9/916)...named to the NSIC Fall All-Academic Team.
2015:Â Played all but one set while starting all 36 matches at middle hitter...averaged 0.93 kills and 0.71 blocks per set...ranked second on the team for total blocks with 88...had season-high eight kills with four blocks at Southern Indiana (9/5/15)...credited with six kills and five blocks in NCAA Central Region win over Southwest Minnesota State (12/4/15)...tied career-high with six blocks vs. Minnesota Duluth (11/18/15)...repeat selection to the NSIC Fall All-Academic Team.
2014:Â Started all 34 matches at middle hitter as a sophomore, averaging 1.27 kills while leading the Wildcats in blocks at 0.83 per set...played all but one set for WSC...had season-high 11 kills vs. MSU Moorhead (10/4/14)...had six blocks in three different matches - vs. Augustana (10/28/14), at St. Cloud State (11/1/14) and vs. #3 Concordia-St. Paul (11/14/14) at NSIC Tournament...one of eight Wildcat players selected to the NSIC Fall All-Academic Team.
2013:Â Appeared in three matches during freshman season...had one dig, one service ace and one set assist vs. Peru State (10-16-13)...also played in matches vs. William Jewell (Mo.) on 9-14-13 and vs. University of Mary (9-28-13).
High School: Alex Opperman is a 5-11 middle hitter/blocker from Gross Catholic High School in Omaha where she lettered three years and started two in volleyball while also competing in basketball and track. Opperman was named honorable mention Class B All-State as a senior while helping her team to a 30-6 record and a trip to the Class B state tournament. She also helped Gross HS make state in 2011 with a 22-11 record while being named All-River Cities Conference honorable mention. Opperman was also part of the Gross HS Class B state championship team in 2010.
