Former Wildcat standout setter Rachel Walker is in her first year on the Wayne State volleyball coaching staff serving as a graduate assistant coach.
A graduate of Lincoln Southwest High School, Walker was a four-year starter at setter for the Wildcats and closed her career ranked second in career assists with 4,693. She was a two-time All-NSIC First Team selection and was All-NSIC Second Team as a sophomore in 2021. Walker earned AVCA All-America honorable mention honors as a junior and senior and excelled in the classroom named College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team during her junior and senior seasons.
Walker helped the Wildcats win back-to-back NSIC regular season titles while also playing on two NCAA Division II National Tournament teams including the 2023 squad that advanced to the NCAA Elite 8 in Moon Townshihp, Pa.
Walker earned her bachelor's degree from Wayne State in elementary education and sport management and is pursuing a master's degree in sports and organizational management.
