Megan Finn enters her ninth year with Wayne State College Athletics in 2026–27 and second year in her role as Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs after serving seven years as Director of Athletics Development. In her current role, Finn provides strategic leadership for revenue generation, major gifts, annual giving, corporate partnerships, marketing, alumni engagement, and fundraising initiatives that advance the mission of Wildcat Athletics.
Since joining Wayne State, Finn has helped lead a transformative era for the department, playing a key role in securing more than $5.6 million toward the Athletics and Recreation Complex (ARC) Project—the largest athletic facilities initiative in school history. Completed in 2025, the nearly $30 million project includes the Wildcat Dome, extensive renovations to the Student Wellness Center, a varsity-only strength and conditioning facility, the Bebee Family Atrium, a renovated Gardner Indoor Athletic Complex, new football turf and track, and numerous enhancements that have elevated the student-athlete experience. She continues to help lead fundraising efforts for future facility improvements and scholarship initiatives.
Student-athlete scholarships remain the number one fundraising priority for Finn and Wayne State Athletics. During her eight years at Wayne State, annual scholarship support for Wildcat student-athletes has grown from approximately $800,000 to more than $1.5 million and continues to increase. Through major gifts, annual giving, endowed scholarships, corporate partnerships, and targeted fundraising initiatives, Finn has helped significantly expand the resources available to recruit, retain, and support Wildcat student-athletes while keeping scholarship growth at the forefront of the department’s fundraising strategy.
Finn oversees several of Wayne State Athletics’ premier fundraising and engagement initiatives, including the Cat Club, annual golf tournaments, alumni reunions, and the annual Giving Day Scholarship Campaign, which has generated more than $600,000 for student-athlete scholarships over the past five years. In 2021, she co-founded the Women’s Wildcat Open to support scholarships for female student-athletes. The event has experienced consistent growth, reaching a record 116 participants in 2026.
Prior to Wayne State, Finn spent eight and a half years with Great Western Bank in Omaha, where she advanced to Assistant Vice President and developed a strong background in commercial banking, cash management, and relationship development.
A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Finn is a graduate of Roncalli Catholic High School. She attended Dana College as a member of the women’s basketball program before earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Spanish from Midland University in 2010. She later earned her Master of Business Administration from Midland in 2014.
An active leader in the Wayne community, Finn serves as Board President of Wayne America, Inc., is a member of the Wayne Rotary Club, serves on the Wayne Country Club Board of Directors, volunteers as a youth basketball coach in Wakefield, and is a graduate of Leadership Wayne. She has also served as chair of the Business & Industry Committee and volunteered as an assistant girls’ basketball coach at Wayne High School.
