Laquisha Cook of Wayne State College was named the Nebraska NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week Monday afternoon following her play in two Wildcat wins over the weekend. 

Cook, a 5-9 junior guard from Houston, Texas (Tyler JC), averaged 18 points per game as Wayne State topped Mount Mercy College (86-59) on Saturday and Briar Cliff University (89-57) on Sunday.  She poured in a game-high 24 points on 10 of 14 shooting in Sunday's win over the Chargers and scored 36 points in just 38 minutes of playing time in the two wins.  Cook leads the Wildcats in scoring this season averaging 13.3 points per game.

Wayne State has won five straight games and is 10-2 on the season.  The Wildcats return to play on Sunday, December 30th hosting #22 South Dakota at 2:00 p.m.
