21st-ranked Wayne State College suffered its first loss of the season Friday afternoon at the Rockhurst University Volleyball Tournament in Kansas City as the Wildcats were swept by Minnesota State 30-19, 30-26 and 30-15. Minnesota State improved to 6-0 on the season while WSC slipped to 4-1.
The Wildcats struggled hitting the ball during the match, recording 28 hitting errors with an .086 hitting percentage. WSC also had seven serving errors in the contest. Senior middle hitter Emily Schroeder was the lone Wildcat to hit double digits in kills with 11. Senior libero Laura Dolezal had 17 digs with setter Jenna Jansen credited with 30 set assists in the match.
WSC was scheduled to play Rockhurst Friday evening at 6:45 p.m. as play continues for the Wildcats at the Rockhurst Tournament.
