Minnesota, Crookston 4 Wayne State 0
The Wayne State College women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 Northern Sun Conference loss at Minnesota, Crookston on a cold, blustery Sunday afternoon in Crookston, Minnesota. UMC held a 1-0 lead at halftime, then scored two goals in the first 4:30 of the second half to grab a 3-0 lead and never looked back in downing the Wildcats. With the loss, WSC falls to 1-10 in the NSIC and 1-16-1 overall while Minnesota, Crookston is now 3-14-1 and 2-9 in league play.
Minnesota, Crookston held a 15-7 edge in shots over Wayne State, including a 7-1 lead in corner kicks over the Wildcats. Megan Kenealy, Valerie Robinson and Samantha Mueting each recorded two shots to lead the Wildcats on offense. Sophomore goalkeeper Emily Walker was credited with three saves while allowing four goals in the loss for WSC.
Wayne State will be at home next weekend, hosting Bemidji State Saturday and Minnesota Duluth on Sunday to close out regular season play in the Northern Sun Conference.
