Bemidji State blanks Wayne State 4-0 in NSIC women's soccer

            Bemidji State's Jamie Ford scored two goals to lead the Beavers in a 4-0 Northern Sun Conference women's soccer win over Wayne State Saturday in Wayne, Nebraska.  With the win, Bemidji State improved to 11-7-1 overall and 4-7-1 in the NSIC while Wayne State fell to 1-17-1 overall and 1-11 in league play.

            Ford scored the first goal of the game for Bemidji State in the 15th minute for the lone goal of the first half to give the Beavers a 1-0 lead at intermission.  Her second goal of the game came at the 55:58 mark, giving the Beavers a 2-0 advantage.  Ashlee Ellefsen scored less than three minutes later in the 58th minute to give Bemidji State a 3-0 lead and Analey Skog closed out the scoring with a goal at 88:45 to give Bemidji State the 4-0 win.

            Bemidji State outshot Wayne State 14-8 in the contest despite WSC holding a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks.  Megan Kenealy registered three of the eight shots on goal for the Wildcats. Sophomore goalkeeper Emily Walker was credited with seven saves in the loss for WSC.

            Wayne State will play their final home game of the season on Sunday afternoon when the Wildcats host Minnesota Duluth in a 1:00 p.m. contest.
