#23 Wayne State 3 Minnesota, Crookston 0
Jennifer Hefner and Brittany Van Beek recorded 10 kills apiece to lead the 23rd-ranked Wayne State College volleyball team in a 3-0 Northern Sun Conference win over Minnesota, Crookston Friday evening in Wayne, Nebraska. The Wildcats improved to 23-8 overall and 12-7 in the NSIC with the win while Minnesota, Crookston fell to 6-22 overall and 6-13 in league play.
The Wildcats held a .245 to .073 hitting advantage over the Golden Eagles despite 19 hitting errors compared to 21 for UMC. Van Beek ended the game with a double-double thanks to 11 digs to go with her 10 kills. Hefner added five blocks to go with her 10 kills in the Wildcat win. Setter Diedra Artz was credited with 33 set assists for WSC.
For Minnesota, Crookston, Nebraska natives Allison Zajicek (Beatrice) and Amber Meyer (Paxton) each finished with seven kills for the Golden Eagles.
Wayne State will close out the regular season at home on Saturday afternoon with a 4:00 p.m. contest against MSU Moorhead.
