NCAA Division II 23rd-ranked Wayne State hit a season-high .362 and added a season-high 10 service aces Saturday afternoon in a 3-0 win at Bemidji State in Northern Sun Conference volleyball. Scores of the match were 25-17, 25-22 and 25-14. The Wildcats move to 22-7 overall and 11-6 in the NSIC while Bemidji State dropped to 6-24 overall and 2-16 in league play with the loss.
The Wildcats had a balanced hitting attack in the win as Brittany Van Beek, Jennifer Hefner and Mindy Moody each recorded 10 kills in the win. Van Beek also finished with 10 digs for a double-double while Meredy Dubbs had a game-high 12 digs to lead WSC in the win. Sophomore setter Diedra Artz added 42 set assists and three service aces while freshman Tali Fredrickson served up five service aces in the Wildcat win.
Wayne State will be in action again Tuesday evening at the 23rd-ranked Wildcats visit #21 Augustana College in Sioux Falls for a 7:00 p.m. Northern Sun Conference contest.
