The Wayne State College soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday afternoon to open NSIC play for both teams. With the loss, WSC is 0-7-1 on the season and 0-1 in the NSIC. Concordia-St. Paul moves to 4-4-0 on the season and 1-0 in the NSIC with the win.
The game remained scoreless until the middle of the second half when Concordia-St. Paul's Kari Janes scored her first goal of the season. The Golden Bears were able to hold on for the 1-0 victory. CSP had a 28-7 advantage in shots over Wayne State in the contest. Emily Walker took the loss in net for Wayne State and is now 0-3 on the year. Walker made eight saves while allowing the one goal. Keyton Wheelock made three saves and earned the win for Concordia-St. Paul.
Wayne State is scheduled to play at St. Cloud State tomorrow in a 1:00 p.m. contest.
