#19 Wayne State 85 Concordia-St. Paul 76 #19 Wayne State College used six double digit scorers to outgun Concordia-St. Paul 85-76 in Northern Sun Conference women's basketball Saturday evening at Rice Auditorium in Wayne. The Wildcats move to 13-3 on the season and 7-3 in the NSIC with the win while dropping Concordia-St. Paul to 8-7 and 4-5 in league play.
The Wildcats took an early 11-5 lead on the Golden Bears. CU got as close as two at 16-14 with 12:02 to go in the first half, but WSC went on a 16-3 run over the next 4:05 to take their biggest lead of the first half, 32-17 with 7:57 left before halftime.
Concordia-St. Paul cut into the Wildcat lead and was within six at 41-35 at the 1:44 mark of the half before WSC finished with a 44-37 lead at intermission.
WSC started strong in the second half, taking an 11-point lead at 52-41 on a
Millie Niggeling jumper. But Concordia-St. Paul scored 10 of the next 12 points and pulled within three at 54-51 on a Kionda Nicks jumper.
With WSC still holding a three point lead at 65-62, the 'Cats sealed the win with a 13-0 run over a span of 2:57.

Haley Moore and Niggeling each hit treys to start the scoring run for the 'Cats, giving WSC a 78-62 lead with 6:00 to play.

Jordan Spencer led six double digit scorers for the Wildcats with 15 points. Freshman forward
Maggie Schulte followed with 14,
Ashton Yossi scored 13 and Niggeling added 12. Junior reserve forward
Katie Hoskins tied a season-high with 11 points while sophomore backup guard
Haley Moore added 10 points.
Wayne State made 29 of 61 shots for 47.5 percent, including 10 for 23 from behind the arc. The 'Cats were 17 for 24 at the free throw line.
Senior Anika Whiting led Concordia-St. Paul with 33 points to go with 11 rebounds. Lauren Shifflet (12) and Ameshia Kearney (11) also hit double figures for the Golden Bears.
CU was 25 of 53 shooting for 47.2 percent. The Golden Bears were 7 of 14 from 3-point range and 19 of 26 at the charity stripe.
Concordia-St. Paul held a 38-32 edge in rebounding over Wayne State thanks to Whiting's 11 caroms.
Maggie Schulte led the Wildcats on the glass with eight boards.
WSC had just five turnovers in the game to 12 on Concordia-St. Pau. The 'Cats held a 20-8 advantage in points off turnovers over the Golden Bears and the WSC bench outscored CU 29-20.
Wayne State will be on the road next weekend, playing at Minnesota Duluth Friday at 6 p.m. and St. Cloud State Saturday in a 4 p.m. contest.
