Wayne State College remained fourth in the latest NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Central Region Rankings released Wednesday afternoon by the NCAA office in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Central Region is made up of teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, Great American Conference and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
Fort Hays State stayed first in the region rankings with Emporia State moving up one spot to second. Pittsburg State slipped one notch to third with Wayne State and Harding (Ark.) remaining fourth and fifth. Arkansas Tech and Northern State exchanged spots in this week's poll at sixth and seventh while the final three spots stayed the same with Minnesota State eighth, Central Missouri ninth and Missouri Southern 10
th.
The top eight teams from the region will play in the NCAA Central Region Tournament March 13, 14 and 16 hosted by the top seed.
Wayne State is 27-5 on the season following Tuesday night's 61-45 setback to Northern State in the NSIC Sanford Health Women's Basketball Tournament Finals. The Wildcats are expected to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II National Tournament with the selection show slated for Sunday evening at 9 p.m. on
