            #8 Wayne State used a .391 hitting percentage to cruise to 25-13, 25-16, 25-19 Northern Sun Conference volleyball win Friday evening at Minot State.  The Wildcats improve to 20-6 overall and 11-6 in NSIC league play while the host Beavers fall to 5-21 and 0-17 in the league. 
            The Wildcats recorded 15 kills and only one attack error to capture a 25-13 win in the first set hitting .519 as a team.  The second set saw Wayne State hold Minot State to a .138 attack percentage forcing seven Beaver attack errors, to give the Wildcats a 25-16 win. 
            Senior Michaela Mestl became the career service aces leader at Wayne State by recording her second of the match to give the Wildcats an early 2-0 lead in the third set.  Wayne State used four kills from Junior Erin Gross and Mestl to lead the Wildcats to a 25-19 win in the third set and to complete the sweep.
            WSC finished the match with a .391 hitting percentage and 42 kills, with only eight errors and 87 attacks.  Minot State hit .173 with 33 kills, 19 attack errors and 81 attacks. 
            Gross led WSC with 15 kills in the match and a .520 hitting percentage.  Mestl added 10 kills and recorded two service aces in the match to pass Julie Jacobsen (2002-05) and Shelly Lueders (1988-91) as the career service aces leader at Wayne State (161).  Humphrey High graduates Alyssa Frauendorfer and Tarrin Beller each accounted for seven kills on the night.  Haley Kauth and Michaela Mestl had seven digs apiece while sophomore setter Megan Gebhardt had 37 assists in the match. 
            The Wildcats will be on the road again tomorrow afternoon visiting the University of Mary in a 4 p.m. contest.
