            Wayne State senior thrower Michaela Dendinger completed the throwing triple crown for the second straight year at the NSIC Outdoor Track and Field Championships Saturday in Winona, Minnesota, winning the hammer throw, shot put and discus to lead the Wildcat women.  As a team, WSC placed eighth out of 15 teams with 50 points and ended the meet with three NSIC champions and one All-NSIC performer.  Dendinger was also awarded the NSIC High Point Scorer Award for a second straight season scoring 30 points with her three first-place finishes. 
            The University of Mary won the women's team title with 157 points, well ahead of second place Minnesota State with 110 points.  Winona State edged Augustana for third place 81.33 to 80 with Minnesota Duluth fifth at 78.  Sioux Falls came in sixth place with 55.50 points followed by Concordia-St. Paul in seventh (55.33) and Wayne State eighth with 50. 
            Rounding out the team standings were ninth place Northern State (38 pts), MSU Moorhead (35), St. Cloud State (34.33), Upper Iowa (20), Bemidji State (14.50), Southwest Minnesota State (7) and Minot State (3).
            Dendinger, a graduate of Hartington Public HS (Coleridge), started the day with a first place mark in the hammer throw at 203' 3".  She followed that with a new NSIC record and NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 54' 3 ¾" to take first place in the shot put and completed the triple crown sweep in field events for a second straight year winning the discus at 166' 6". 
            The first place finish by Dendinger in the discus marked the fifth time in the last six years that a Wildcat thrower was the NSIC champion in the event.  Dendinger also won the event last year, preceded by wins from Kacie O'Connor in 2016 and Sara Wells in 2013 and 2014.
            Freshman Jadin Wagner (Lawton, Iowa) earned All-NSIC honors with a second place finish in the shot put at 47' 9", an NCAA provisional qualifying mark.  In the discus, senior Kacie O'Connor recorded a fifth place finish at 143' 9" with freshman teammate Kenzie Sullivan right behind in sixth place at 141' 8".
            Graduate student Mary Alderson completed the Wildcat point scoring taking fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.64 seconds.
