The Mountain Cats from Pittsburgh Johnstown took advantage of five errors and 11 walks from Wayne State College to defeat the Wildcats 8-1 Thursday morning at the National Training Center Spring Softball Games in Auburndale, Florida. WSC drops to 9-13 while Pitt Johnstown improves to 4-3.
Pitt Johnstown opened the scoring with two runs in the first on three hits and one Wildcat error to take a 2-0 lead.
The Mountain Cats added one run in the third and two more in the fifth for a 5-0 advantage.
Pittsburgh Johnstown produced three more runs in the seventh on just one hit to take an 8-0 lead.
Wayne State avoided the shutout in the bottom of the seventh as
Clare Reinhart singled with pinch runner
Natalie Arbizu scoring on a Mountain Cat error to make the final score 8-1.
WSC had five hits in the contest with Reinhart going 2 for 3 on a pair of singles.

Riley Holmberg each singled.
Freshman starter
Hadley Chvatal (4-3) suffered the pitching loss working three innings.
Sloan Cooksey pitched three innings of relief while
Makenna Adkison pitched the final inning of relief.
Wayne State will close out play in the NTC Spring Games by playing Malone (Ohio) Thursday afternoon in Auburndale, Florida.
