Wayne State College Director of Athletics
Mike Powicki announced today that
Kim Endicott of Wayne has been hired as Head Cheerleading Coach of the Wildcats for the 2020-21 season.Â
Endicott has also announced the Wildcat Cheerleading Team for the 2020-21 season with five returners and 11 newcomers that will make up the team of 16 members.
"I am excited to have Coach Endicott on board to lead our cheerleading program," remarked Powicki. "She has already been in critical in moving this program forward and solidifying our most recent recruiting class. I am excited for WSC to make a financial investment to better support and enhance our cheerleading program through coaching, an operating budget and scholarships. A robust and organized cheerleading program can be an incredible asset in supporting and marketing our varsity athletic program."Â
Serving as tri-captains for the 2020-21 Wildcat Cheerleading squad are juniors
Lauren Jacobson (Grand Island),
Tessa Kreikemeier (Fremont) and
Katelyn Warner (Fullerton).
Other returners on the team this season are senior
Morgan Chase (Gretna) and sophomore
Brooklyn Bacon of Hubbard.
Nine freshmen and two sophomores compile the list of 11 newcomers. Sophomores include
Amber Adams (Fremont) and
Macie Timm (Norfolk) while new freshmen on this year's team include
Madison Anstine (Yankton, S.D.),
Zoe Baxter (Lincoln),
Cali Gregory (Omaha),
Faith Hansen (Cedar Bluffs),
Mary Helms (Arlington),
Abby Marshall (Columbus),
Brittney Palik (David City),
Paige Sackschewsky from Waco and
Katelyn Wiegand of Columbus.
"With our five returning cheerleaders and 11 newcomers I'm confident in the direction the program is headed," commented Endicott. "We have a mix of girls from small and big towns in Nebraska and South Dakota. These girls have experience stunting and tumbling as well as club cheerleading participation. We will be able to put a well-rounded program on the sidelines for our WSC athletes, the campus and community."
Endicott added, "I'd like to thank President Rames and Athletic Director
Mike Powicki for the opportunity to lead the Wayne State College Cheerleading program in this new capacity. As a graduate of Wayne State and a former cheerleader for the Wildcats this is an exciting time for myself and the cheer program."
