Wayne State College Cheerleading Tryouts were held on April 2 and the team for 2022-2023 has been selected according to Wildcat Cheerleading Head Coach Kim Endicott.  The roster of 17 includes nine new members joining eight returners.  
            The returning team members are captains Faith Hansen and Makenna Frank along with Madison Anstine, Varsha Huebner, Ava Kelly, Isabella Kiger, Hannah Kritzer and Haley Williamson.  
            New members of the team include two current Wayne State freshmen, Abbie Johnson (Sidney, NE) and Kara Schmid (Kingsley, IA) and incoming freshmen, Eden Broberg (Scotus Central Cathoic High School, Columbus, NE), Sophie Burton (Mercy High School, Omaha, NE), Hailee Guthard (Waverly High School, Waverly, NE), Cassidy Most (Bishop Neumann High School, Wahoo, NE), Trinity Nelson-Vuxtra (Yutan High School, Yutan, NE), Mira Rahe (Syracuse High School, Syracuse, NE) and Haleigh Simanek (Wahoo High School, Wahoo, NE).  
            "The new additions to our squad will only add to the pieces that we currently have in place to keep our program moving forward", said Coach Endicott.  "Included in the new group of cheerleaders, is a member of the state runner ups, Bishop Neumann, Cassidy Most."  "We are looking forward to having everyone on campus over the summer to prepare for our fall season and the start of football season."
