NSIC Volleyball Weekly Release 10/11/21

            Rachel Walker of Wayne State College was named the Northern Sun Conference Setter of the Week Monday afternoon by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota following her in two NSIC home sweeps over Northern State and MSU Moorhead over the weekend.  It was the second time this season that Walker was named Setter of the Week (9/13/21).
            Walker, a 5-9 sophomore setter from Lincoln (Southwest HS), averaged 13.67 set assists and 2.17 digs per set over the weekend.  She accounted for 44 assists and had nine digs in Friday's 3-0 sweep over Northern State and followed with 38 set assists, four digs and one block in a 3-0 Saturday sweep against MSU Moorhead.
            For the season, Walker is averaging 10.46 assists per set to rank fifth in the NSIC and also produces 2.15 digs per set while tied for the team lead in service aces with 15.
            Wayne State, ranked sixth in the AVCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, is 14-2 overall and 8-1 in the NSIC and will host Mount Marty Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. in a non-conference match at Rice Auditorium.
