Washburn held Wayne State to just three hits as the Ichabods posted an 11-0 victory over the Wildcats Saturday evening at the Emporia State Softball Tournament in Kansas. Washburn is now 10-3 while WSC drops to 2-8.
The Ichabods started the scoring with four runs in the second.
WSC had their lone scoring threat in the third as
Riley Holmberg singled and
Kim Vidlak doubled to put runners at second and third but both runners were left stranded.
Washburn then scored five runs in the bottom of the third and added two runs in the fourth to make the final score 11-0.
Washburn held an 11-3 edge in hits over Wayne State. Vidlak doubled while
Kortney Buresh and Holmberg each singled.

Sloan Cooksey suffered the pitching loss with relief help from senior
Maddie Moser.
Wayne State will close out play in the Emporia State Tournament Sunday facing host Emporia State at 12 p.m. and Missouri-St. Louis at 2:30 p.m.
