The Wayne State Women's soccer team picked up win number one on the season, beating Minnesota State Moorhead 3-0 Sunday afternoon in NSIC conference play at the Wayne State Soccer Pitch in Wayne. The 'Cats improve to 1-5-1 and 1-3 in league play while the Dragons fall to 0-7 and 0-4 in the conference.

Madison Kemp scored her first goal of the season just 38 seconds into the match to take an early 1-0 lead.

Skylar Stueckrath scored her second goal of the season during the ninth minute to give WSC a 2-0 advantage.
           The Wildcats used another Kemp goal at the 22:38 mark to take a commanding 3-0 lead midway through the first half.
           The second half saw no goals, as the Dragons outshot the Wildcats 6-4.
           Wayne State held a 15-6 advantage in shots and had more corner kicks 7-4. The Dragons had more saves, 5-4, but were whistled for four more fouls, 9-5.
           Wayne State was led offensively by Kemp who had two goals on two shots. Stueckrath had one goal on two shots, both of which were on target.
Annika Syvrud had three shots with one on goal. Â

Sidney Truman had three saves in 45 minutes of play in the second half with no goals allowed.
Katherine Hageman had zero goals allowed and no saves.
           Wayne State is on the road next weekend, playing NSIC matches at Minnesota Crookston Friday at 3 p.m. and Bemidji State Sunday in a 1 p.m. contest.
