Cada, Beller lead #24 Wildcats in sweep over Arkansas Tech

            Kelsie Cada and Taya Beller combined for 21 kills and a .409 hitting percentage to lead the #24 Wayne State College volleyball team to a 25-21, 25-10, 25-15 victory over Arkansas Tech Saturday morning at the Dallas Baptist Patriot Tournament in Texas.  WSC improves to 2-0 on the year while the Golden Suns drop to 2-1.
            WSC got off to a strong start in the first set, recording 17 kills and a .333 attack percentage in posting a 25-21 set win.  Taya Beller posted six kills on 12 attacks with one solo block to pace the 'Cats followed by three kills each from Maggie Brahmer, Cada and Jaz DeHaan. 
            The second set saw the Wildcats notch a .412 attack percentage with 17 kills while recording three service aces in a convincing 25-10 set win.  DeHaan posted five kills followed by Cada with four.
            The final set saw the Wildcat defense force 11 attack errors while holding Arkansas Tech to a -.103 hitting percentage as the 'Cats cruised to a 25-15 set win for the sweep.  Cada was credited with four kills in the set while Jordan McCormick posted two service aces.
            Wayne State finished the match hitting .292 with 44 kills and just 11 errors on 113 attacks.  WSC also had eight service aces in the win and six blocks. 
            Cada led the Wildcats with 11 kills followed by Beller with 10 and DeHaan nine.  Setter Rachel Walker handed out 32 set assists while McCormick recorded three service aces with Walker and Jessie Brandl each netting two aces.  Alaina Wolff was credited with nine digs.
            Arkansas Tech hit just .065 in the match as WSC forced 16 attack errors on the Golden Suns while recording just 22 kills.
            Wayne State will face Eastern New Mexico Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. to close out play in the Dallas Baptist Patriot Tournament.
