SDSU Division II Invitational Results

Brooklynn Chipps and McKenzie Scheil each hit NCAA provisional marks in the weight throw and shot put respectively for the Wayne State women's indoor track and field team Friday afternoon and evening at SDSU Division II Invitational held at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex in Brookings, South Dakota. The meet attracted 20 teams from NCAA Division II and NAIA ranks from across the region.
           Wayne State scored 22 points in the meet and placed 10
th out of 19 teams competing.Â
           Chipps, a sophomore from Elgin, recorded a strong second place finish in the weight throw with a NCAA provisional mark of 62' 2 ½", currently ranking as the eighth-best mark in NCAA Division II this season. She also had a seventh place finish in the shot put with a mark of 42' 11".Â
           Scheil, a graduate student from Fairmont, had an NCAA provisional mark in the shot put placing fourth at 45' 1 ¾" and added a fifth place finish in the weight throw at 61' 3".

Keyla Sambo had a seventh place finish in the triple jump at 34' 10 ¼".
           In running events, senior
Allie Rosener placed in two events taking eighth in the one mile run at 5:36.86 and was ninth in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:22.59.
           Allison Stineman took 10
th in the 1,000-meter run (3:28.85) and was 12
th in the one mile run (5:43.49).
           Wayne State will compete again on Friday and Saturday, January 28 and 29 in Mankato, Minnesota at the Mark Schuck Open.   Â
