Winona State scored two second half goals to post a 2-0 Northern Sun Conference women's soccer victory over Wayne State Friday evening at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium in Winona, Minnesota. The 'Cats fall to 2-10-4 and 2-8-3 in the NSIC while the host Warriors improve to 8-4-4 and 6-3-4 in league play.
The first half was scoreless with Winona State holding an 8-0 edge over WSC in shots with five on goal.
The host Warriors snapped the scoreless tie just over eight minutes into the second half scoring a goal at the 53:35 mark for a 1-0 lead.
Winona State added an insurance goal at the 70:41 mark to close out the scoring for a 2-0 win.
Winona State ended the contest with a 20-0 advantage in shots over Wayne State and 11-0 in shots on goal.
The Warriors had six corner kicks to one for WSC while Winona State had two more fouls than the 'Cats 6-4.
