Two Goals from Reagan Allen Leads WSC to 5-2 Victory over Upper Iowa

    Wayne State would score five goals Sunday afternoon in win against Upper Iowa 5-2 in Wayne. Wayne State moves to 3-10-4 on the year with a 3-8-3 record in the NSIC. Upper Iowa falls to 2-11-4 with a 1-8-4 record in NSIC play.
 
    Wayne State would score right out of the gate to open the game with a shot from forward Reagan Allen to make it 1-0 at the 1:10 mark of the first half. She would record her second goal of the game only four minutes and 18 seconds later at the 5:18 mark off an assist from Paige Pemberton to make it 2-0 'Cats.
 
    WSC would then score their third goal at the 16:09 mark of the first half from Alyssa Ferin to make it 3-0 Wildcats.
 
    The first half would conclude with the Wildcats having eight shots to the Peacocks five. Wayne State would also have more corners with six to Upper Iowa's one. Both goalkeepers would record three saves in the first half.

    Upper Iowa would cut into the Wayne State lead only 40 seconds into the first half on a goal from Peacocks player Rachyl Benavides to make the score 3-1 in favor of the 'Cats.
 
    Wayne State would then get goal number four on the game from Sydney Schnase. She was assisted by Abby Sutton and Skylar Stueckrath. Wayne State now led by a score of 4-1 at the 50:17 mark.
 
    Sutton would get a goal for the 'Cats to extend the lead in the second half at the 59:15 mark of the game to make it 5-1 Wayne State.
 
    The final goal of the game came from the Peacocks by Grace Birdsley at the 78:17 mark of the game making the final score of the game 5-2 in favor of Wayne State.
 
    Upper Iowa would have one more shot than Wayne State at 15-14. WSC recorded one more assist than Upper Iowa in the match at 9-8.
 
    Allen would record the most shots for WSC with three. She was followed by Sutton, Ferin, and Stueckrath all having two shots. Goalkeeper Hayden Wallace would record nine saves for WSC while goalkeeper Regan Ott recorded one save.
 
    The Wildcats close the 2022 season on the road Thursday afternoon with a 3 p.m. contest at Augustana.
