Ferris State 8 Wayne State 0 (5 inn.)

            Ferris State of Michigan blanked Wayne State 8-0 in five innings on the final game of the Wildcats' Florida Spring Break Trip Friday afternoon at the NTC Spring Games Tournament in Winter Haven, Florida.  The Bulldogs move to 9-10 with the win while the Wildcats are now 3-18 on the year.
            The Bulldogs came out hitting the ball early, using three hits and a walk to score four runs in the first inning.
            WSC had a pair of hits in the third inning and two runners on base but could not score.
            Ferris State added two runs on three hits in the third inning to grab a 6-0 lead.
            The 'Cats had two more base runners in the fourth on a hit and Bulldog error but could not get that extra base hit to keep the inning alive and get on the scoreboard.
            Ferris State then got a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to end the game with an 8-0 final.
            The Bulldogs outhit Wayne State in the contest 9-5.  Kortney Buresh and Riley Holmberg each went 2 for 3 in the game with a pair of singles while Paiton Tornberg also singled.
            Junior Hadley Chvatal pitched the first two innings of the contest with freshman Samantha Felt working the final two innings.
            Wayne State resumes play on Tuesday, March 29th opening Northern Sun Conference play at #8 Augustana.
