Brody Sintek's shutout in the opener helped Wayne State salvage a split with Bemidji State in NSIC baseball Saturday afternoon in Wayne. The 'Cats won the first game 11-0 over Bemidji State before falling in the second game of the doubleheader 11-6 in a series that was moved to the Pete Chapman Baseball Complex because of weather in Bemidji, Minn. The Wildcats are now 12-13 on the season and 6-6 in NSIC play while the Beavers move to 4-20 overall and 1-9 in the league.
Wayne State started off the first game strong, putting up four runs in the top of the first. Infielder

Alex Logelin walked and senior shortstop
Andrew Hanson put down a bunt to the third base side and beat the throw at first to load the bases.
WSC used a hit batter, a single and a triple to end the top of the first with four runs on four hits, leading 4-0.
The score remained 4-0 until the 'Cats came up in the top of the fourth. With the bases loaded, Hanson hit a three RBI triple down the right field line and WSC led 10-0.
In the sixth, the 'Cats added one more run on one hit and one Bemidji State error to make the score 11-0.
Wayne State finished out the 11-0 win, allowing just six hits in the game.
Sintek (3-2) pitched a complete game for the win, while Logan Barrick (1-4) got the loss for the Beavers.
WSC outhit BSU 10-6 in the game. WSC drew six walks while allowing just one of their own.
Hanson had three RBIs and three runs scored on two hits for the Wildcats while sophomore designated hitter
Nick Barnett had two hits with an RBI and a run scored.
Wayne State opened the second game with a 5-0 lead, but the Beavers rallied with a pair of three-run innings and took the lead for the good to salvage a split with an 11-6 win.
Hanson started the second game with a two out single, scoring on a double from senior third baseman
Chris Cornish to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
Douglas reached base in the third inning on a single and proceeded to steal second and third base, coming home to score on a throwing error after stealing third. Logelin tripled, scoring on a double by Hanson to make the lead 3-0.
Hanson came around to score on a single from Cornish. WSC scored one more run, making the score 5-0 on an RBI single from Barnett.
Bemidji State answered in the bottom of the fourth, scoring three runs on two hits and two walks to make the score 5-3 through four innings of play.
The Beavers blanked the 'Cats in the top half of the fifth, before scoring four runs in the bottom of the frame to take the lead 7-5 over the Wildcats.
BSU put up another in the bottom of the seventh, pushing their lead to 8-5.
Hanson added to his NSIC leading stolen bases (21), stealing third before scoring in the top of the seventh on a BSU fielding error, cutting the Beaver lead to 8-6 through seven innings of play.
In the bottom of the eighth, BSU used a three-run homerun to make the lead 11-6.
BSU outhit the 'Cats 15-12 in the game. Hanson went 3-5 in the game with an RBI and three runs scored to go along with a stolen base. Logelin, Cornish and
Colin Lynam also had multi-hit games for the Wildcats.
Freshman
Jackson Shelburne (2-4) got the loss for the Wildcats while Jackson Back (1-1) got credit for the win for the Beavers.
The Wildcats and Beavers conclude their three-game NSIC series Sunday with a nine-inning game starting at noon.
