Northwest Missouri State 1 Wayne State 0
The Wayne State College soccer team fell in the season opener to Northwest Missouri State 1-0 on Friday afternoon from the Wayne State Soccer Complex. The Wildcats fall to 0-1-0 while Northwest Missouri State improves to 1-0-0 on the season.
The lone goal of the game came at the 14:49 point of the first half on a cross from Elaina Shromoff of the Beavers to Hannah Stirling for the goal.
Wayne State would record five shots in the game from five different Wildcats including
Annika Syvrud,
Chloe Schlines,
Abby Evers,
Reagan Allen and
Haley Hoffman. Evers and Allen were credited with shots on goal for the 'Cats. Goalkeeper
Hayden Wallace would also record eight saves for the 'Cats in the loss.
Northwest Missouri State would lead Wayne State in shots 17-5 while the Wildcats led in saves 8-2.
Wayne State will next be in action on the road against Northwestern Oklahoma State on September 1st. Game time is set for 6 p.m. in Alva, Oklahoma.
