Wayne State Soccer plays MSU Moorhead to 2-2 tie

The Wayne State Soccer team tied MSU Moorhead 2-2 on Sunday afternoon in Moorhead, Minnesota. 

With the tie, Wayne State moves to 0-5-2  while MSU Moorhead moves to 1-3-1 on the season. 

In the first half the Wildcats would strike first with a goal at the 4:11 mark in the first half by defender Olivia Bollman off a corner kick from the 'Cats. She was assisted by midfielder Leah Bennett

The Dragons would strike back quickly to tie the game 1-1 less than a minute later at the 5:01 mark by McKenzie Lckert. 

MSU Moorhead would build on their lead early in the first half when they scored their second goal at the 15:55 mark hitting the low left side of the goal by Dragon midfielder Jensen Seidel. 
Midfielder Morgan Rhodes would tie the game up 2-2 at the 28:53 mark of the first half hitting the low right part of the goal. 

Both teams would have nine shots in the first half with Wayne state having five shots on goal and MSU Moorhead having eight shots on goal. The Wildcats would also see five corners in the first half compared to the Dragons zero. Wayne State also had six saves in the half while MSU Moorhead had three. 

During the second half, The Wildcats would have 11 shots with six on goal compared to the Dragons four shots with one on goal. MSU Moorhead would have more saves with six in the second half compared to Wayne State's one. Both teams would also have two corners in the second half. 

Annika Syvurd led the Wildcats with four shots in the game followed by Abby Sutton, Paige Pemberton, Morgan Rhodes, and Skylar Stueckrath had three shots. 
Rhodes, Sutton, Bollman, and Syvurd would all have two shots on goal in the afternoon. 

Hayden Wallace would record all seven saves in the tie for the Wildcats. 

Wayne State will next be in action on Friday September 23rd against Minnesota Crookston in Wayne with game time scheduled for 3 p.m.
