Maggie Brahmer was announced Tuesday afternoon as the AVCA/GameChanger (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Women's Division II National Player of the Week following her play in three Wildcat wins last week.
Brahmer was named Northern Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week Monday after named Defensive Player of the Week in the league one week earlier.
           Brahmer, a 6-0 junior middle hitter from Pierce (Pierce HS), averaged 4.44 kills and 1.44 blocks per set with an astounding .633 hitting percentage that included two matches against Top 10 ranked opponents. She had 15 kills with seven blocks and a .560 hitting percentage in Saturday's 3-0 sweep at #10 Minnesota Duluth to go with 11 kills and six blocks in a 3-0 sweep Friday at #6 St. Cloud State. Brahmer started the week with 14 kills and no errors on 16 attacks with an .875 hitting percentage in a Tuesday 3-0 sweep over Peru State.
           For the week, Brahmer had 40 kills and just two errors on 60 total attacks.
           This season, Brahmer leads the NSIC with a .409 hitting percentage and is tied for first with 1.20 blocks per set. She also ranks fifth in the league in points per set (4.11) and eighth in kills per set (3.45).
           Wayne State, ranked #1 in the AVCA/TARAFLEX Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, is 14-1 overall and first place in the NSIC with a 5-0 league mark. The Wildcats have three home matches this week, starting with a Tuesday 6 p.m. contest vs. Winona State. WSC is also at home Friday at 6 p.m. vs. Bemidji State and Saturday at 4 p.m. vs. Minnesota Crookston.Â
