WSC SAAC raised $3666.27 during their annual Pie in the Face event held on Thursday, February 16 at the Wayne State vs. Sioux Falls basketball games.
The Wayne Backpack Program provides food to local students who may need meals over the weekend. The goal of each bag is to provide items that would minimal preparation. Jodi and Kent Pulfer told the group that their donation will cover a little over a month's worth of food.
Contestants this year included Coach Alex Koch (WSC Baseball), Coach Christy Warnock (WSC Softball), Coach Logan Masters (WSC Football), Coach Scott Kneifl (WSC Volleyball), Coach Taryn Dredge (WSC Strength & Conditioning), Jadin Wagner (WSC Assistant Compliance), Dr. Charles "Chuck" Parker (WSC Business Professor), and Justin Raulston (Director of Christian Student Fellowship).
Through online and in-person donations the event ended in a tie resulting in Coach Koch and Coach Kneifl both receiving a pie in the face.
The Wayne State Student Athlete Advisory Committee would like to thank the contestants as well as all the individuals that donated to the event.
