Wayne State Director of Athletics Mike Powicki has announced the hiring of Drew Harinen as Assistant Director for Athletic Compliance at Wayne State College.  Harinen replaces Jadin Wagner, who was promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Internal Affairs following the recent retirement of Linda Anderson.
            Harinen comes to Wayne State after working the past year as Assistant Compliance and Event Operations at Southwest Minnesota State.  He also worked one year as an athletic compliance intern at Minnesota State.  At SMSU Harinen conducted eligibility status and monitored NCAA and NSIC compliance-related responsibilities while at MSU he assisted in the day-to-day management and organization of athletic recruitment and monitored student-athlete academic progress to maintain eligibility. 
            A native of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Harinen earned his bachelor's degree in sport management with a minor in business administration from Minnesota State and is currently pursuing a master's degree in business administration and corporate finance concentration from Southwest Minnesota State.
