Kaitlyn Bloomenrader placed 22
nd overall to lead the Wayne State College women's cross country team to a ninth place finish Saturday morning at the Dordt Holiday Inn Express Classic in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Host Dordt easily captured the team title with 20 points followed by Benedictine (Kan.) in a distant second at 90 points. Doane (122), Concordia (Neb.) at 127 and Minnesota Crookston with 159 points closed out the top five teams.
Augustana JV was sixth at 170 followed by Dakota State in seventh (177), Northwestern (Iowa) eighth with 190 and Wayne State ninth at 191 with Southwest Minnesota State closing out the team scoring at 212.
Bloomenrader was the first Wildcat to cross the finish line covering the 6,000-meter course in 23:20.8 to finish 22
nd out of 142 runners. Freshman Allie Czapla was next in 46
th place in 24:03.30 with
Sydney Escritt 51
st overall at 24:15.30. Rounding out the top five runners were
