Alaina Sorensen scored two goals leading Wayne State College in a 3-0 victory at MSU Moorhead Friday afternoon in Northern Sun Conference women's soccer played at Nemzek Field in Moorhead, Minnesota. The Wildcats are now 4-3-2 overall and 3-1-1 in league play while the host Dragons drop to 1-7-1 and 1-4 in NSIC games.
The Wildcats got on the scoreboard in the 10
th minute as Sorensen scored her second goal of the season with an assist by junior
Paige Pemberton giving WSC a 1-0 lead at the 10:03 mark.
Just under five minutes later the 'Cats scored again as Pemberton notched her third goal of the season off passes from
Erin Peters and
Riann Daas increasing the Wildcat advantage to 2-0.
Wayne State closed their scoring early in the second half as Sorensen produced an unassisted goal 3:39 into the second half making the final score 3-0.
The Wildcats finished the contest with a 21-6 advantage in shots and 9-2 in shots on goal over the Dragons. WSC had the lone corner kick of the game while MSU Moorhead was called for 10 fouls to just four on the Wildcats.
Sorensen led the Wildcats with two goals thanks to five shots and four shots on goal. Pemberton also produced five shots with two shots on goal, accounting for one goal and one assist. Senior
Morgan Rhodes added four shots and one on goal.

Sidney Truman was credited with two saves, notching her third shutout of the season.
Wayne State concludes their NSIC road trip Sunday with a 1 p.m. contest at Northern State.
