The Wayne State College women's golf team fired rounds of 318 and 310 to finish second with a team score of 628 at the Nebraska Intercollegiate Invitational played Friday and Saturday at Lochland Country Club in Hastings.
Bellevue University captured the team title at 617 followed by Wayne State in second at 628. Nebraska-Kearney came in third with a 640 followed by Doane (649), Concordia (701), Hastings (728) and Midland (875).
Broken Bow freshman
Camryn Johnson was the top Wildcat finisher, posting a third place finish out of 35 golfers with rounds of 79 and a two-over par 74 Saturday to finish the 36-hole event at 153. Junior
Saffire Sayre was next, tied for fifth overall at 157, shooting rounds of 82 and 75.
Sophomores
Erica Lee and
Hailey Kenkel tied for ninth overall at 161. Lee carded rounds of 78 and 83 while Kenkel shot rounds of 79 and 82.
Senior
Abbigail Brodersen was tied for 12
th overall at 162 with rounds of 83 and 79.
Wayne State concludes the fall portion of their 2024-25 schedule on Monday and Tuesday, October 14 and 15 at the Sioux Falls Invitational played at Grand Falls Casino Golf Resort in Larchwood, Iowa.
