12/16/2024 2:46:00 PM

The Atlanta Vibe of the Pro Volleyball Federation announced late Monday morning that three-time Wayne State All-American middle hitter Taya Beller has signed a contract with the club.  Beller will report to the team's training camp in Atlanta and compete for one of 14 roster spots on the team, which is coached by former Nebraska assistant and standout player Kayla Banwarth.
Beller, a 6-2 middle hitter from Lindsay (Humphrey HS), just completed a standout career at Wayne State where she was a four-time All-NSIC First Team selection and last week was named AVCA All-American for a third straight season.
During Beller's senior season at WSC, she ranked second in the NSIC this season in kills per set (3.51), blocks (1.29) and points per set (4.52) and was third in hitting percentage at .349.  She had 24 matches with 10 or more kills this season, highlighted by a career-best 28 kills at Winona State (10/8/24).   Beller also recorded at least two blocks in all but one match this season.
Other career honors for Beller at WSC include D2CCA three-time All-American, AVCA and D2CCA All-Central Region selection three times, AVCA Central Region Player of the Year as a sophomore in 2022 to go with NSIC Offensive Player of the Year honors in the same season.
Beller finished her Wildcat career ranking fourth on the all-time kills list with 1,545 and second in career hitting percentage at .369, leading WSC to a pair of NSIC regular season championships and one NCAA Central Region title (2023).
