Two early goals give St. Cloud State 2-0 win over Wildcats

St. Cloud State scored 90 seconds into the contest and recorded both goals in the opening 15 minutes to defeat Wayne State College 2-0 in Northern Sun Conference women's soccer played Sunday afternoon at the WSC Soccer Pitch.  The visiting Huskies are now 6-2 and 3-1 in the league while the Wildcats drop to 3-3-2 and 2-1-1 in NSIC play.
The Huskies jumped out quickly on the Wildcats, scoring an early goal off a corner kick in front of the goal for a 1-0 lead 1:32 into the contest.
Just before the 15-minute mark, Wayne State was called for a foul inside the box resulting in a penalty kick for St. Cloud State.  The Huskies converted and held a 2-0 lead.
SCSU would finish the first half with a 6-5 edge on shots with both teams recording two corner kicks.

Despite holding a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks during the second half, Wayne State could not score and the Huskies early two goals held up for the 2-0 win.
