The University of Mary handed Wayne State College a 7-0 Northern Sun Conference women's soccer loss Friday afternoon in Bismarck, North Dakota. The Wildcats drop to 4-2-4 on the season and 3-2-2 in NSIC play while the host Marauders improve to 3-4-3 and 1-3-3 in league play.
The host Marauders opened the scoring in the eighth minute to grab an early 1-0 lead, then added two more goals in the first half at the 20:33 and 36:47 marks to take a 3-0 lead at intermission.
Mary scored two quick goals to open the second half, scoring in the 49
th and 55
th minutes, to take a commanding 5-0 lead. The Marauders added two more goals to close out the scoring at the 67:40 and 78:51 minute marks to close with a 7-0 win.
UMary held a sizeable 21-5 advantage in shots and 11-1 in shots on goal over the Wildcats. Both teams had five corner kicks while UMary was called for seven fouls to five on the Wildcats.
