Wayne State stretched their lead out to 20-15 and forced a Duluth timeout at the 24-21 mark. WSC would win set one after a Bulldog attack error, 25-21.
Set two was another battle as the two ranked squads traded blows and exchanged the lead several times with multiple ties. After a Bulldog kill tied it up at 13-13, UMD would build a two-point lead and force the 'Cats to take a timeout.
WSC would tie the score at 15-15 and again tie it at 18-18 before a pair of Robles kills and a UMD error gave the 'Cats a 21-18 lead. Hanel would finish the set out with a kill to make it 25-20. Robles led with four kills and

Set three saw just as many ties and lead changes as the second set with the final tie being 12-12 before WSC was able to build a lead. A Robles kill and ace led into a UMD timeout.
The Bulldogs cut into the Wildcats lead making it 18-19. Two more kills from Robles forces UMD to take another timeout at the 21-18 point.
Kills from Robles, Hanel and
